Sat., Nov. 1 - Chautauqua Hall Dance Club meets at Chautauqua Hall, 16th and Central, Pacific Grove. $5 members and $10 guests, lesson 6 p.m. and dancing 7 to 10 p.m. to recorded music every Saturday.

Sun., Nov. 2 - Dancing to recorded music at Monterey YMCA, El Estero and Webster, $10 for lesson at 6 and dancing 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Sunday (unconfirmed). $5 discount for members, military and students. .

Mon., Nov. 3 - Clicktrax Jazz Orchestra plays at Monterey Live, 414 Alvarado St., Monterey, 8 to 10 p.m., free dance lesson at 7:30. $5 cover charge, first Monday of each month.

Tues., Nov. 4 and Nov. 18 - Don Irving Band plays at Active Senior Center, Pajaro & Harvest, Salinas, 7 to 9:30 p.m., $6, Great music, many mixers. No dances Nov. 11 and 25.

Fri., Nov. 7 - Rainbows play at Mid-County Senior Center, 829 Bay Ave., Capitola, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., $8, every Friday. Thanksgiving Dance on Nov. 21.

Fri., Nov. 7 - Big band salute to Jimmy & Tommy Dorsey, 6 to 10 p.m., Marriott Hotel in Monterey, $35, $45, or $55. See www.bigbanddanceparty.com for info.

Sun., Nov. 9 - Monterey Hot Jazz Society 1 to 5 p.m. at the Moose Lodge on Cyn. Del Rey, Del Rey Oaks, $5 members, $6 members of other jazz clubs, $10 guests. Music by the Midnight Rose band and local Jammers. Food available until 3 p.m.

Sun., Nov. 16 - Velzoe and the Upbeats play at Market St. Theater (SCO), 222 Market St., Santa Cruz, 2 to 4:30 p.m., $8, third Sunday of every month. Free lesson at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments served. 471-2143.

Thurs., Nov. 20 - Thanksgiving Dance at Oldemeyer Center on Hilby St., Seaside. $4 for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and dancing to the music of Nedda Lentini & Ensemble12:30 to 3 p.m.

Fri., Nov. 21 - Thanksgiving Dance at Mid-County, Capitola. Ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner will be raffled.


NOTES:
  • All dancers welcome at senior centers above.
