Fri., July 2 - Rainbows play at Mid-County Senior Center, 829 Bay Ave., Capitola, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., $8, every Friday. Celebrate the 4th by wearing red, white, and blue. Western dance on July 16.

Sat., July 3 - Chautauqua Hall Dance Club meets at Chautauqua Hall, 16th & Central, Pacific Grove, $5 members and $10 guests entitles dancers to the dance lesson at 6 pm and dancing to recorded music 7 to 10 pm, every Saturday.

Tues., July 6 - Moonglow Jazz Band plays at Active Senior Center, Pajaro & Harvest, Salinas, $8 members, $9 guests, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Great music, many mixers. ($25 membership available.) 424-5066.

Sun., July 11 - Monterey Hot Jazz Society, 1 to 5 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 555 Cyn. Del Rey Blvd., Del Rey Oaks. Music by the Bob Schulz' Frisco Jazz Band and local Jammers. Admission is $8 members, active military and students, $15 guests. Second Sunday of the month. Food available until 3.

Thurs., July 22 - Western dance at Oldemeyer Center on Hilby Ave, Seaside, $4 for lunch at 11:30 am and dancing 12:30 to 3 to music by Mike Noonan.

Thurs., July 22 - Big Band Swing Dance. Clicktrax Jazz Orchestra plays at Moose Lodge, 555 Cyn. Del Rey Blvd., Del Rey Oaks, 8 to 10 pm, $10. Open to the public - not a Moose member function.

Sun., July 25 - Memorial for Mary Ingram who played piano and sang for dances many years, 2 to 6 pm, at the Moose Lodge at 555 Cyn. Del Rey Blvd., Del Rey Oaks, music and dancing anticipated. Donation to cancer research encouraged.

Sun., Aug. 1 - The Casuals play for a tea dance at the Mid-County Senior Center, 829 Bay Ave., Capitola, 2 to 5 pm, $6, refreshments, first Sunday every month (except holiday weekends such as Labor Day). 476-4711.
